This year's Miss Hong Kong auditions attracted many girls to participate. This year many of them are models, some are well educated with master degrees and are Oxford students. However same as previous years, this year there are many "weird looking" girls such as "female version Louis Yuen", "bigger version Wong Cho Lam" and "mourning eyes Johnson Lee". Looks like this year's Miss Hong Kong will be a beauty pageant version of popular TV show "Fun With Liza and Gods".

Also, Jacqueline Chong's younger sister Lisa Chong participated in the auditions, since Lisa was a little nervous, Jacqueline came to accompany her. She said: "Lisa has great interest in the entertainment circle. She is the type that is more self-centered. Miss Hong Kong will be good training for her, it will be beneficial to her life. Let her see the world."

Timmy Hung's ex-girlfriend 26 year old model Lillian expressed that she had always hoped to participate in Miss Hong Kong since she was young, but at the time she did not have much confidence, so she became a model instead. However, now that her confidence has all came back, she can finally fulfill her dream.

TVB Executive (Ho Lai Chuen) expressed that the contestants has to first past the swimwear judging which focuses on their body figures, looks and speech. This year's requirements are not as strict, so there are many 25 year old participants. 9 out of 10 are from foreign places, the number of participants has doubled this year 3 participants from overseas already chosen. The ones from Hong Kong also have good qualities, the number of finalist may surpass 12.
