Romance VS Case - Solving with Physics

Everything can be explained with logic, only love is irrational. Assistant Professor Kingsley (Raymond Lam), who seeks scientific explanations for everything, understands his love for policewoman LAI (Tavia Yeung) as a kind of chemical reaction. Kingsley slowly understands the mystery of his love for LAI but in the process LAI is hurt deeply. Kingsley’s good friend Inspector LO (Kenneth Ma) has been maintaining a platonic relationship with reporter Nickole (Bernice Liu). But he gets troubled when he learnt that Nickole is going to get married; How does science explain this? How can the four of them reach equilibrium between reason and emotion?

Emotional Policewoman: LAI (Tavia Yeung)

Personality: Righteous, Courageous, Patient, Has a kind heart. Weakness: Too emotional hence affects her judgement.

Background: Comes from a humble police family in YauMaTei but leads a happy life. However, eldest brother ON (Evergreen Mak) and 2nd brother LEUNG (Alex Lam) are not cut out to be policemen hence LAI will have to continue the family’s legacy. She is an outstanding policewoman but unfortunately she does not know the ways of the world hence her talents were buried until Superintendent YUK (Astrid Chan) transferred her back to CID. When Inspector LO got help from his good friend to solve a criminal case, LAI got acquainted with Kingsley from the upper-class society and a fairytale-like romance began. LAI naively believed that the differences between their 2 families can be resolved if she changed herself and made concessions for Kingsley’s parents YIN (Lee Kwok-Lun) and JYU (Mary HON) but in the end, Kingsley initiated a logical breakup which hurt LAI deeply.
