Ghost Writer Going Head-On With World Cup..

Ghost Writer Going Head-On With World Cup, Steven Ma Bravely Dons Amour into Battle

TVB new series, “Ghost Writer”, will premiere next Monday. Yesterday, producer Leung Choi Yuen and the cast members including Steven Ma, Sunny Chan, Linda Chung, Fala Chen, Queenie Chu and Elliot Ngok along with a huge entourage came to Wun Chuen Sin Koon ( 雲泉仙館) to perform the prayer ritual for blessings. But as Steven and Sunny prayed sincerely with their incense offering for blessings, Fala, Linda and Queenie because of their beliefs did not join in the ritual. Fala even took out her camera to snap pictures of herself and Linda. The promotional event attracted many tourists and local onlookers who jostled to snap pictures. Sunny even received a bouquet of red roses from the mainland China female fans.

Recently, Mystery of Love has been harshly criticized by netizens of plagiarizing the Japanese drama, Detective Galileo, and has received many complaints sent in by viewers. Ghost Writer will be airing next Monday; male lead, Steven Ma, had just received from his fan a copy of netizens’ complaints (posts) about Ghost Writer plagiarizing Painted Skin. Ma Zai made a point to clarify that Pu Song Ling (Ghost Writer's Chinese title) was the author of Liao Zhai, and that this new series is an interweaving of PSL's life story with a human/fox-spirit story adapted from "Liao Zhai"; thus, no plagiarism.

As to the MOL blatantly plagiarizing the Japanese drama, Ma Zai expressed that he has not watched either one of them, so will not comment. Ghost Writer will clash with World Cup; Ma Zai commented that only a few episodes will clash with the matches. Moreover, he is accustomed to be dispatched to battles. His series, ‘Where the Legend Begins’, battled against World Cup four years ago; before that, his Ultra Protection battled against Princess Pearl 2; as such, he is used to donning his amour for battles. And both time, the ratings did not turn out too badly. When this reporter praised him for being ‘General Luck’, (Fok Jiong) he quipped self-deprecatingly: “Lucky Head (Fok Tao), more likely, but ratings are not too bad.”

In Ghost Writer, Linda Chung portrays an astrology fortune teller, who later transforms into a fox demon, so she needed to wear red contact lenses as part of her makeover. However, the lenses were ill-fitting thus causing her much discomfort during shooting.

Linda begged the reporter not to use her and Raymond Lam as a topic anymore.
