Mischa Barton is said to have recently collapsed at her Los Angeles home because she had allegedly snorted cocaine three days in a row.
The 23-year-old actress remained in an involuntary psychiatric hold after reportedly suffering a meltdown. Pals of the former O.C star informed police amid fears she would kill herself after three days of hard partying.
"She's in very bad shape. She's running out of money and can't find love, so now she is looking for a good time to escape her misery. She is on a downward spiral. She is a mess. She is a suicidal, uninsurable mess," the Daily Express quoted a friend as telling the New York Post.
Los Angeles police and Barton's representative have suggested that the actress required assistance for "a medical issue." They haven't revealed any further details.
Mischa Barton has no qualms about dropping her clothes onscreen if the script requires it.
The 23-year-old actress, who has previously shed her layers in 2006's ''The Oh in Ohio'' and 2009s ''Closing the Ring'', revealed what mattered more was the way nudity was handled, reports ‘China Daily’.
She said: "Doing nudity doesn't bother me. It all comes down to whether I trust the director or not."
The former ‘O.C.’ star added that her parents, on the other hand, had their reserves about her profession.
She added: "My mom and dad are still a bit confused and cautious about what I do.
"My dad is a stockbroker who studied law and economics and his dad was a politician. But I know him and my mom are still very proud of me."
Mischa Barton has found herself caught up in a love triangle, with reports suggesting the Kooks front man Luke Pritchard is not the only man in her life.
The former O.C. star has been dating the British rocker since December (08), but has reportedly also been linked to DJ and club promoter Tom Wright.
He's convinced they are an item but is panicking after seeing Mischa and Luke holding hands. He feels he might have to have Mischa on a tighter leash.
Wright was said to have been less than impressed when he saw snaps of Barton out with Pritchard, with a pal telling British tabloid News of the World that he feels he's being made a fool of.
