Succession of Good News for Hong Kong Film Award’s Best Supporting Actress Michelle Ye; ‘Vengeance’ wins the Black Lion Award

Popular Michelle Ye who has just won the Best Supporting Award in 29th Hong Kong Film Awards through the movie ‘Accident’ has since a succession of good news. On 24th April 2010 in Beijing, a movie she led in, and directed by renowned director Johnny To, ‘Vengeance’ has won the Black Lion Awards in Rome’s honored film award. During the awards ceremony, ‘Vengeance’ was given highest honors when Italian renowned film director, Dario Argento personally presented the award.

It was revealed that ‘Vengeance’ is about a French chef who initiated his vengeance plan for the manslaughter of his daughter and her family who married away to Macau. Michelle Ye plays a poor peasant woman who is also a cool assassin. Her vivid performance won high praises from audience and becomes among the highlights of ‘Vengeance’. Michelle Ye has also won recognitions from international film festivals through her outstanding performance in ‘Vengeance’ and ‘Accident’.

Upon hearing the news that her ‘mentor’ Johnny To’s movie ‘Vengeance’ winning the award in Italy, Michelle Ye expressed she is genuinely happy for Director Johnny To. Working with Johnny To in ‘Vengeance’ has helped improve her acting a lot, and gaining a whole new familiarity towards movies, and she is looking forward to working with Director Johnny To again.
